Cambridgeport
Parents from the Cambridgeport Children’s Center (”Totlot’) cleaned Perer’s Park, David’s Park, and Hastings Squarer in Cambridgeport.
Thank you to Ben Rinehart and parents from Cambridgeport Children’s Center (”Totlot’) on Chestnut St in Cambridgeport.
Dana Park - Charles (17 months old) and I took brooms, gloves, and bags to Dana Park in the morning. Parents who were there with their kids got excited and helped out. We had a great time! One strong father helped sweep most of the park. I did not catch his name, sorry. Thank you to all parents who helped out!
Prince St –via voicemail: “It was a success. Pictures are coming. Thanks a million for initiating this in Cambridge. People here were very positive about it. We will definitely do this again next year.” Thank you to Susanne Rasmussen for leading the effort on Prince St.
Pemberton Report from Lisa Ravicz
“We collected 1 barrel of trash, 8 blue boxes of recycleables (mostly water & gatorade bottles) and 103 tennis balls. We are all done so we do not need to have a clean up session on Sunday. We will see you next year!”
Thank you to Lisa Ravics, her family and neighbors!
Reminder:
Join one at one of the cleanup locations or come help in Central Square. We are gathering at Clear Conscience Cafe (C3), 581 Mass Ave, at 8:30am. Daniel Goldstein, owner, has called on over 100 people. He will treat the first comers to organic coffee, and ice cream after the cleanup. The first 40 people will get green t-shirts with Clean Cambridge logo!
Thanks a million to every participant!
If you did not get a chance to come out and clean during this weekend, many more weekends with warm weather are coming.

2. Trash pickup arrangements:
Try to collect leaves and yard waste into paper bags and other litter into plastic bags.
If you are part of a larger team and plan to have many bags, work with your team leader to leave all bags in one (or more locations) near a public receptacle.
Team leaders: Right after the pickup, please call me to confirm locations. I will communicate with Department of Public Works to pick all up on Monday morning at the latest.
Suggested locations for trash pick up are listed at http://www.cleancambridge.org/blog/2009/05/dpw-suggested-pick-up-locations/

Central Square/ Essex St- any receptacle on Mass Ave
Porter Square- Public receptacle near the shopping center
East Cambridge- Cambridge St and several parks, ample options for receptacle
Columbia St- any public receptacle, but down by Lafayette Square might make the most sense
Cambridgeport- Dana Park is the best spot
Kendall, Fresh Pond- there are ample receptacle in both locations
Bergin Park- should have barrels
Antrim Street- near Inman - Vellucci Plaza
For other neighborhood spots it would be easiest for residents to keep rubbish with their own rubbish for set up during curbside pick up.
